In the past this mushroom was used to make fire. The iceman "Ötzi" carried one of this tinder mushrooms wtih him.

Convenient substrate:
Hardwood (most suitable: birch, alder, willow, aspen)

In the past, this mushroom was known for its fire starting effekt. Since thousands of years, people used the tinder fungus in combinataion with a flint stone. Ötzi, the famous ice mummy (was found in 1991 in the Alps, a few kilomters distant to Innsbruck) carried one Fomes fomentarius fruitbody in his bag. This mushroom was also used for wound treatment.

This culture was cultivated from spores by our mycological team and refined via natural selection. We declare explicit that you may use this cultures only for inoculation of substrates. Copiing and reselling is expressly prohibited!
