How to grow medicinal and edible mushrooms in your garden

With little work and endurance, you can grow mushrooms in your garden! Medicinal and edible mushroms or decoratively luminescent muhsrooms - a fungus is always a whitty eye-catcher. Many mushrooms contains medicinal active substances, fresh harvested fruiting bodies are very tasty. They are a valuable part of blanced nutrition.

Spawn-Bag Indoor
	The easiest way to grow mushrooms by your self: Ready colonised spawn-bags for fruiting in a growing-room or propagator. Harvest - according to species - after a few weeks!

Spawn Dowels
	One of the simplest method is the inoculation of woodlogs wiht spawn-dowels. The inoculation of logs with mushroom cultures can be done round the whole year.

Outdoor Spawn for Mushroom Bed

100 gram of fresh mushrooms contains (averaged):

* Energy: 10 to 27 kcal or 42 to 113 kj
* Water: 75 bis 93 gram
* Protein: 1,5 bis 5,4 gram
* Carbohydrates : 0,1 bis 7,4 gram
* Dietary fiber: 2 bis 16,5 gram
* Potassic: 190 bis 526 milligram
* Phosphor: 67 bis 162 milligram
* Calcium: 2 bis 30 milligram
* Magnesium: 6 bis 24 milligram
* Manganese: 77 bis 180 microgram
* Zinc: 0,5 bis 1,5 milligram
* Selenium: 1 bis 184 microgram
* Vitamin D: 1,9 bis 3,1 microgram

Mushroom contents a large amount of water and a very low fat value. They are a low-calorie food and supply basic micro-elements and mineral nutrients (i.e. Potassic und Phosphor)
Edible mushrooms are high in Vitamin D, which can be found in vegetables only in traces. The cell walls contains indigestive elements (Chitin und Cellulose), so mushrooms are high in fibre and activate the action of the bowels in a natural way.
