Cloning is a method to get a genetic identic copy of a mushroom. You can germinate mycelium out of every mushroom fruiting body you found in the forest or cultivated at home, or eaven bought at the supermarket!

The fruiting bodys of mushrooms comprise of compressed mycelia. Cloning a mushroom means that you put a piece of the fruiting body on an agar medium filles petri dish. From the fruiting body new mycelium germinates which is used for further cultivation.
