 39.90EUR

"King Oyster, King Trumped Muhroom"

The King Oyster Mushroom produces fruiting bodies with a very delicious taste. The texture of the flesh is comparable to boletus. For cooking you can use Eryngii like boletus. Eryngii produces fruiting bodies with diamter 3-10 cm; the shaft will be 3-10 cm long. The fruiting bodies of King Oyster will reach up to 300 gram under well environmental conditions. Fresh fruit bodies can be stored in the fridge for about 2 weeks!

For more information about Eryngii including gowing parameters, please click here!

This set contains:
1 x bale of straw 27cm x 20cm x 40cm
1 x grain spawn 0.5 liter
1 x jute hessian cloth (200 x 100 cm)
1 x string

If you want to use your own straw, please find our assortment of grain spwan in the product group "Mushroom Grain Spawn". (Please click here.)

One of the simplest ways to grow straw habitant mushroom species is the cultivation on bales of straw in the garden. The bale of straw is inoculated with grain spawn and then wrapped with jute cloth.

For spawn run store the bale in a shady place in the garden. Depending on the weather and climate conditions, it will take 2 – 4 weeks till the bale is fully colonised with mushroom mycelium. The first fruiting bodies should show up after additional 2 - 4 weeks. The mycelium will fruit in several flushes until all the nutrients in the bale have been consumed. Afterwards you can use the rest of the bale for composting and make plant nutrition from it.
