We only use controlled, natural sun-dried straw
of the best production regions in Europa.
After the harvest, the humidity of the bales is tested to ensure that only first-rate material is processed. The straw is subjected to an elaborate treatment process that strongly reduces the bacteria, yeast and fungi present in natural straw. Periodical microbiological tests guarantee the purity of our bedding.
A specially developed mechanical procedure modifies the surface structure of the straw and makes it especially absorbent – it is chopped, sieved and de-dusted in a filtering device – in five stages, before it is pressed into stacks and subsequently dissolved.
During pressing, the straw is thermally de-germed, then allowed to cool off, chopped and packaged. At the same time, the remaining dust is suction-cleaned.
This elaborate de-dusting is necessary to remove field dust and field spores and provides a major benefit to your mushrooms.
